A web app for Dr. Francisco Barreto’s cardiology practice

Where we started

Coordinating appointments over phone calls and messages takes time and leaves information scattered across chats and notes. The practice needed a professional online presence and an orderly way to receive, confirm and remind appointments without adding work for the team.

Goals

  • Let patients book an appointment online in a few minutes
  • Prevent double bookings and no-shows with automatic reminders
  • Answer on WhatsApp around the clock, always within clear limits
  • Give the doctor a daily view of the schedule without opening the system

What we built

A complete system designed for patients, staff and the doctor.

Public website

The doctor’s profile, services, location and FAQ, optimized for search engines and mobile.

Online booking

Three-step booking with real-time availability and email confirmation.

Patient portal

A secure private area where patients check their appointments and information.

Admin panel

Schedule, patients and appointments managed by staff with role-based permissions.

AI WhatsApp assistant

Answers common questions and helps patients book. It never gives diagnoses and hands off to a person when needed.

Automatic notifications and summaries

Appointment reminders for patients, a daily summary for the doctor by email and WhatsApp, and a weekly summary.

Security by design

Health data: decisions made from day one, not bolted on at the end.

  • The database makes it impossible to book the same slot twice
  • Every WhatsApp message is signature-verified; if verification fails, it is rejected
  • Duplicate messages are detected and processed only once
  • The most privileged keys exist only on the server
  • Role-protected routes and row-level access rules in the database
  • Times always calculated in Venezuela’s time zone

Current status, transparently

  • The app was delivered in September 2026 and is in use on its own domain.
  • It serves one practice location; the system is ready to grow.
  • It is still too early to publish measured results. We will share them once there is real data.
